PCBs found below Mitchell Park
More PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) were found in a sewer under Mitchell Park. One has to wonder how many times this story will repeat itself before these persistent chemicals are finally gone.
Thankfully MMSD is testing for them in areas they are likely known to occur. It is too bad that we can't be more proactive in dealing with these ubiquitous cancer causing chemicals. I look forward to the day when we no longer have to worry about PCBs and can feel safe in our waterways.
