Schlitz Park 5K Challenge

Take part in a scenic 5K race that starts and finishes at the historic Schlitz Park, with ALL PROCEEDS being DONATED TO MILWAUKEE RIVERKEEPER.

On Thursday, September 13, 2012, the Schlitz Park 5K Challenge will kick off the Milwaukee River Challenge Weekend.  There will be two races that day:  the scenic 5K course beginning and ending at Schlitz Park and a one mile family fun job/walk that circles the grounds.  Awards will be given to the top 3 males in each 5-year age group and top 3 femailes in each 5-yaer age group.  Get a T-shirt before the race and enjoy food, drink and entertainment after the race.

Registration: 4:30pm - 5:15pm
Race Start - 5K competitvie race and 1-mile fun jog/walk:  5:30pm
Post Race:  Food, drink, entertainment
Awards:  Approx. 6:15pm

The Schlitz Park 5K will be a fun way to begin the Milwaukee River Challenge weekend.  The Challenge is billed as the most accessible rowing race for viewing in America.  The 12th annual Milwaukee River Challenge, billed as the most accessible rowing race for viewing in America, will be on Saturday, September 15 and features dozens of collegiate and club teams testing their rowing skills, stamina, and precision on a single-leg, 4-mile challenge on the Menomonee and Milwaukee Rivers.

Register online (http://www.active.com/5k-race/milwaukee-wi/schlitz-park-5k-challenge-2012) or onsite at 4:30pm (limited to 400 participants). The race will begin at 5:30pm at Schlitz Park, by the tent at 1555 N. RiverCenter Drive boat launch. 

Race fee:  $20 through March 15, $25 through August 15, $30 through race date.  And money raised will be donated to Milwaukee Riverkeeper!
