Clean Water Act 40th Anniversary Celebration

This October the Clean Water Act turns 40!  To commemorate the anniversary of this landmark legislation, Milwaukee Riverkeeper will host a celebration at Discovery World on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 6pm-9pm.

THE PROGRAM

Todd Ambs, President of River Network and former head of the Water Division of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, will deliver remarks on the Clean Water Act, 40 years later.  Mr. Ambs will share his thoughts on how far we have come thanks to this remarkable law, how far we have to go until our waterways are “fishable and swimmable” and how we can get there.

THE EXHIBIT

Guests will be invited to the debut of a special exhibit showing the transformation of area waterways from cesspools of industrial pollution to treasured community assets, The Clean Water Act: Restoring Milwaukee's Rivers.  Also showcased will be award-winning submissions to Milwaukee Riverkeepers 2012 Arts and Rivers Contest.
