Green Living Festival
The Mitchell Park Domes Education Center and Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful have partnered for the third annual Green Living Festival!
This is a fun celebration of sustainable living in Metro Milwaukee that goes from 10:00am to 3:00pm throughout the Domes complex. Kids can learn about recycling, energy, plant life and water from the Super Heroes for the Environment and listen to stories read by Mother Nature. There will be lots of fun activities for parents and kids including recycling relays, trash arts and crafts, animals, games, an electric-powered cycle, grease-fueled Mercedes and participation in “The Bee, The See, The Tree… and Thee” with Professor W.W. Oops! A re-fashioned fashion show directed by Sam Kendall [Scarlet Fierce] and sponsored by Montessori High School will conclude the event.
Transition Milwaukee members will be available to answer questions related to peak oil, local resiliency, renewable energy and more! A vegetarian menu will be available for purchase by Zilli Hospitality Group. Here’s what you can do to reduce the carbon footprint of this event: bring your own water bottle, bag and utensils, carpool, ride the bus or bike to Mitchell Park Domes and spread the word!
