Milwaukee Urban Water Trail: Gap Analysis

In doing the access site inventory and creating the map, Milwaukee Riverkeeper and its partners identified gaps in existing access, and created an action plan and recommendations for future work to improve access.  As part of the gap analysis, we  analyzed ordinances and regulations that restrict access, identified areas for potential future access points, identified small infrastructural improvements that could enhance access for small watercraft and recreational paddlers, identified areas where additional parking and amenities are needed, and identified management issues and needs for maintaining an open and safe water trail.  The goal of this gap analysis is to inspire the development of new or improved water access sites on all three rivers in Milwaukee.
