River Defenders is an action-focused civic engagement program for Milwaukee Riverkeeper volunteers. Our volunteer leaders (River Defenders) believe in regular people using relationships to cultivate interest in civic engagement within their communities.

The Milwaukee River Basin is the community we serve. Within those geographical boundaries, people are faced with a variety of healthy water issues ranging from concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) pollution to flood management.
