TIME
1:00pm – 4:00pm

The Senior Water Advocacy Network will hosts its 2018 Summer Film Preview.   Be one of the first to see the newest documentary from Patagonia that follows the fight for the last wild rivers in Europe. The Balkan region—diverse in cultures, languages and history—is home to the healthiest rivers in Europe, including the only undammed river on the continent. But across the region, 3,000 hydropower dams and diversions are being proposed or built, threatening irreversible damage to the environment, wildlife and local communities. The film highlights the activists banding together to save the blue heart of Europe, and features a beautiful score from musician Andrew Bird.

Following the film, Cheryl Nenn, Riverkeeper of Milwaukee Riverkeeper, will talk about the important work of removing the Estabrook Dam, future dam removal issues throughout the our local region and challenges presented by the film.
